My best friend Amy is so fabulous. When I asked her about ideas for this months 'freebies' she said '"How about a Ham?". So I called up my new buddy Shawn Bateman, Manager at the HoneyBaked Ham Store in Champions, and he is going to give one lucky winner a $45 Gift Certificate to his store! What a Ham!

How do you win? Shoot me an email,

from the cutest little company Piggies & Paws, I found out about the most incredible offer of the year!!! Oprah has teamed up with Snapfish to help you clean up your messy, unorganized photos & children's artwork by offering FREE PHOTO BOOKS!!! Offer ends at midnight tomorrow (Friday, November 14th) so you better get moving sister! UPDATE: I hear Snapfish is having some difficulty with the credit at checkout. I used coupon code freebook2008 and it worked perfect! If it doesn't work for you use their 'live chat' button. You may have to wait a bit.

When it comes to washing clothes? Dirty minded fool! So recently my washing machine of only 6 years is acting stupid. ARGH! My mind immediately turns to thoughts of pretty new energy efficient front load machines in all sorts of berrylicious colors like sparkling avocado, midnight blue, stay-at-home-mom-cherry, and so on. Chris says yes (Yippeeeee), so I research, tire kick, ask around, and finally....I call repair man. DARN IT! Why you ask....

OK, so I know I did my Let Them Eat Cake Blog not to long ago and I ranted and raved about all the fabulous cake makers in and around town. But I had to do a special little ditty about 2 particular bakers because these woman just ROCK! They donated cakes for the Farney Festival and the cat fight that broke out to win them was HILARIOUS!

Christmas is just around the corner and already Nina is asking "Mom can I have that?" in gesture of every commercial that comes on TV. But what I am hearing is "Mom can I have that plastic toy that I will get bored with in less then a week but please go out and spend $50 on it??? Please Mom!!". The joys of Christmas. I was just chatting with one of my gal pals yesterday about my yearly struggle with Christmas and all the 'hoopla' that goes into gift giving and spending and the endless cycle of it all. Come Jan. 1, 2009 most Americans are in debt all over again and it's because of this need to spend and give and please others (including ourselves). Now don't get me wrong, I too am guilty of these little idiosyncrasy's. Every year I say "OK, I am NOT going overboard this year! I will keep it to a minimum". THE LIES! With each purchase I convince myself that "this will be the toy that will keep her busy for hours" or "help her learn better skills" or "make me look cool" (to who I am not sure, but I think this twisted nonsense).

They just keep coming and and my sock drawer money is getting smaller and smaller by the week! October Fall Festivals and Markets received tons of hits and I am so glad you guys found it informative. Now we have all of November to shop and get ready for Christmas! Yippppeee! Time to make Chris all his favorite meals and be extra nice and ask for some extra play money this month (slip him an extra glass of wine with dinner)! teeehehehehee!
OK, if you have some Christmas shopping to do this month then I recommend you hit these events like bee's to honey! Don't forget to check out Houston Chronicle's Fall Bazaar's and Festivals insert published last month. Also, abc local news Channel 13 always has a killer Blog with tons of great info. Their community calender of garage sales, fundraisers, & festivals for November (any month) ROCKS! VERY informative! You can also submit your event and they will post it for you (great press). Like last month, this blog will be updated regularly. Where to go... |
